„SMART GRID AND SMART METERING” Conference

11 April

ELECTRICA SA, Sala Radu Zane

Event description

Smart Grids & Smart Metering Conference, organized by WEC/RNC had as co-organizers ANRE and Electrica, and as main partners Schneider Electric and SANXING (Ningbo Sanxing Smart Electric Co., Ltd) and was held on April 11, 2019 in Radu Zane Hall of the Energy Company ELECTRICA SA.

The event offered to a large number of participants (over 75), electricity suppliers, equipment producers, electricity distributors, members of the academic environment, experts from ANRE, as well as other specialists, the possibility of a wide debate on the current problems of the “Smart” systems from electrical networks, with an emphasis on current and future systems regarding the metering of energy transferred into the electricity system.

During the opening of the conference proceedings, its moderator, Mr. Alexandru Valeriu Binig, a well-known specialist in the energy field, appreciated the topic under discussion and the interest among the specialists, manifested also by the wide presence at this event. The moderator proposes that the discussions should focus on how Romania is preparing for the current energy transition, given that a special emphasis will be placed on the 3 D: decarbonisation, digitization, decentralization.

During his presentation, Mr. Iulian Iancu, WEC/RNC president, underlined that it has been 10 years since the EU initiated the Smart Metering program, which many European countries have taken over, but they have directed it to the big users. The program will be developed to include other users, with a special focus on data transfer security.
